The harmonic structures and melodic phrasing are indicative of this musical genre and indeed the musical key itself is the acoustic guitarists’ friend, E major! Its structure is similar to the Baroque Suit; a collection of “dances”, (spiritually speaking) with the same key signature and technically it is similar to the Romantic Etude; teaching pieces that merit public performance. Ideally it could serve to elevate the musicianship of pianists and guitarists in local congregations. In general the philosophical message of the music is based on a Judeo – Christian worldview and more specifically Reformed Christian theology. My goal was to bring musical expression to an aspect of the purpose of God in redemption known as renewal. Thank you to St. Andrews Church in Newport Beach, CA. for allowing me to use their beautiful sanctuary to film and record these videos, you guys are awesome!
